On the first day of christmas, my true love gave to me... This!

Honestly, it's not 100% up to my standards of quality, but I really wanted to give y'all SOMETHING for the holidays. I'll be updating this project a lot in the future, fixing some sprites, adding more.

Now I'm sure you're wondering what the heck this is. Folks, welcome to a sprite project I've been working on for awhile now: The 4Shades Sonic Advance Project!

Over the years, many of us in the Sonic Advance spriting community have moved away from the original style of the games. Namely, we're use more colors, and colored outlines.

This is all well and good, but this leaves the original sprites behind, and should they be used side-by-side, they feel rather out of place.

The goal of this project is ultimately to bring the original Sonic Advance sprites in line with the expanded-palette / colored outline style. When I am done, this should include Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Cream. Why these five? Because they're the five main characters in the Sonic Advance games, silly!

Every body part now has its own unique palette, even if they're the same color (i.e. you can recolor the socks and the gloves independently now). And if I did it right, you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between them without saving the image, opening it up in an image editor, and using the color picker.

No seriously, please do that. I want you to appreciate my handiwork.

I'm also including the Sonic Battle sprites as well, but they're a bit more unwieldy to do, due to significant stylistic differences between Sonic Battle and the Sonic Advance games. I'll be doing my best regardless.

And yeah, I know Sonic's eyelids are sometimes blue and sometimes tan, that's one of the first things I intend to fix. At the very least, it's interesting to note that they're tan in Sonic Advance and Sonic Advance 2, and blue in Sonic Battle and Sonic Advance 3.

I am also aware that this project will make recolors easier to make, but I don't really care. If people wanna make recolors, let them make recolors, I say. Meanwhile, these sprites are going to be very useful for me.

So yeah, hope you enjoy!
