Select a light source, and shade from there. It's not hard, and you should be able to pull it off easily enough as for C+C of these, they aren't bad, but they look like just outlines of one of the sonic sprites, with no inner pieces, and colored in? Not to say they are bad, but it just looks like an outline with something in the middle being filled in. Shading on them isn't too bad, other then some sprites due to lack of difference in ... would it be hue? Eh... The best way I find to make sprites that don't blend into each other, like the brown and some of the darker colored ones, is to secelect a prime color, then move not only the brightness slider, but the color slider as well, getting a slightly different color that looks better on a sprite. Does that make sense? If not I'll post something on it.
