The legs look strange, I don't know how to explain it, they just seem off.

@.:Blue:.: Perhaps its the jacket, or the way the jacket is layered on the sprite?

Possibly. I just know something looks off.

Maybe you should do an edit to start off with. and I'd go with the original color scheme.

@Royle McCulloch: I didn't feel like going back a year and going back to sonic spriting. And the whole point of the palette change is because /nate/ isn't supposed to be Skate, as /skate/ is my main character. In fact, the whole reason this exists is because one of my friends pressured me. Oh, and I was bored, that too.

All I can critique here is the palate, as that's my forte, so to speak.

The white doesn't have enough contrast. It goes from light to very slightly darker to very slightly darker still. The second and third shades of white should be significantly darker than the first, as otherwise it's hard to tell if it is even there at 100%. You're not the only one who seems to have this problem; even the "best" spriters are doing the same thing, and it's really bothering me. Basically, the second shade should be the third shade, and the third shade should be darker.

The purple pants...the second shade has the exact opposite problem: it's too dark, especially since the third shade is not much darker than the second. I'd recommend making the second shade somewhere near the middle of the first and third, to make the shading somewhat more natural.

The red jacket and the green shirt--as well as the orange fur--have the same problem as the white fur.

Also, it looks like the gloves and shoes are the exact same color as the white fur. This tends to lead to problems down the road, like if you ever need to recolor the gloves and shoes to be a certain color because you're doing a glowy attack or something. Because then you have to be unnecessarily careful to make sure you don't also recolor the fur.

And...I can't think of anything else in terms of the palate. That's all I'm really good at talking about. BTW, for an example of near-perfect palate, I'd go with Skate V.4's red palate. That's basically spot on.

EDIT: I have also noticed that, for the most part, you are using three shades per color. Except you only have two on the yellow for the goggles. I'd recommend adding a third shade for consistency.
