...Good thing I don't do that kind of a backstory.

You normally find people doing this in RPs or from 'Online Bros'.

Huh. All of my characters have such foggy backstories. I need to fix that.

Question: What do you think about comics were a cannon character is interacting with one you made? Would this be considered bad to you? I have a comic based around this principle.

@Salimus- I'm essentially neutral on the concept. I don't mind them if they're well done, but at the same time you shouldn't do them for the sake of doing them, and I generally don't like it if the characters are already related in some way. Meeting for the first time I'd probably be ok with.

Actually there's a loophole around this. You do realise people can make a back-story based around other people's characters in their comics because it's their continuity A.K.A Alternative dimension/setting. Meaning everything they're doing in that environment has got NOTHING to do with your work unless you do something sort of crazy crossover special.

:P

You still need permission from the other authors to have their characters involved, so no, that's not a loophole.

Wow, this is amazing! There's actually a lot of good info here for RPers. (I'm currently RPing as a Kiss-Happy Gordo. It's better than it sounds.)

Actually, I managed to take a random Gizoid from a multi-author comic, made him into a character instead of a training device, and gave him a backstory (in my head). He's now my character and has a custom sprite.

@Shard

You're missing the point. Of course you will still need permission.

This is still a loophole.
